This could mean that the game is nearing completion and right on scheduled for the early January of 2009.  The R-type achievement posted is just one of the many surprises Microsoft has and will release for 2009.

Xbox Live Arcade’s record-breaking year continues to be incredible and more incredible with the long list of games coming out in 2009. Microsoft listed the following downloadable Xbox 360 games including R-type Dimensions.

Lode Runner / Tozai Games
The Dishwasher: Dead Samurai / James Silva
South Park / doublesix games
Puzzle Quest: Galactrix / Infinite Interactive
R-Type Dimensions / Tozai Games

Hefty figures to note proving the success of XBLA are 110 million free trials were downloaded since XBLA service was launched back in 2005 and 100 million Achievement from Xbox Live Arcade games amounting to 1.25 billion gamer points.
